Elderly Woman Rescued After Falling Through Collapsed Floor in Boro Park Home

What began as a routine lift assist call last night quickly turned into a dramatic rescue on East 5th Street and Foster Avenue, when Chaverim volunteers discovered an elderly woman trapped between two floors of her house. She didn’t even live there—it was a property she occasionally stopped by to check on. The woman had fallen through a section of weakened floorboards, which collapsed due to an ongoing water leak. She became lodged between the first and second stories of the building. Chaverim immediately called for additional help, and Hatzolah and the FDNY rushed to the scene. Firefighters worked swiftly and safely extricated the woman from the tight space. She was transported to the hospital in stable condition
