United Hatzalah volunteers respond to Israel’s toughest emergencies — bus crashes, building collapses, terror attacks — where every second counts. To be ready, our teams undergo intensive Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training that recreates the chaos of real life: sirens, smoke, screaming, and split-second decisions. These months-long drills push volunteers beyond their limits so they can stay calm, focused, and effective when lives are on the line. As one volunteer said, the training was even more intense than the real terror attack that followed a week later — and that’s exactly why it works.
