Crying Ourselves Into Motivation (Tisha BeAv & Teshuva Special)

Rabbi Yaron Reuven explains that Tisha B'Av is a day of mourning for the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash and a reminder of the need for Teshuvah (repentance). He argues that the reason HaShem has not brought the Mashiach yet is because we are not ready for the challenges that will come with his arrival. He emphasizes that the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash was not simply a result of idol worship, sexual immorality, and murder, but also because of the casual attitude with which we treat HaShem. Rabbi Reuven highlights the importance of understanding that the sins that led to the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash are still present in our world today, including idol worship in the form of money, immodesty, and the use of wigs made from human hair that originates from idol worship. He stresses that these sins are even more prevalent today than they were in the past. He calls on listeners to recognize their own responsibility in this regard and to take action by spreading the message of Teshuvah and urging others to return to HaShem.
