The Yanuka - The Angels Melody of Reb Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev

Following one of his shiurim, the great gaon Rav Shlomo Yehuda Beeri- “The Yanuka”- told over a little known story about the righteous and holy Reb Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev- “The Defense Attorney of the Jewish People”: One day Reb Levi Yitzchak was sitting with his students and began playing a wondrous tune. When the students asked Reb Levi Yitzchak regarding the origin of the tune, he answered that he heard the ministering angels playing this tune at the time that they sang Psalm 136, “Praise Hashem for He is good, for His kindness is everlasting”.
